Vacancy Details – Indian Army SSC Tech Women

The vacancies are distributed among engineering streams. Candidates must hold a degree in the mentioned branches or equivalent streams as per AICTE.

For Widows of Defence Personnel:

• SSCW (Tech): 01 (BE/B.Tech in any engineering stream)

• SSCW (Non-Tech): 01 (Graduation in any stream)

Eligibility Criteria

1. Nationality

Candidates must be:

• Citizen of India OR

• Subject of Nepal OR

• Person of Indian origin migrated from eligible countries intending permanent settlement in India.

2. Age Limit

• SSCW (Tech) Women: 20 to 27 years (Born between 01 Apr 1999 – 31 Mar 2006)

• Widows of Defence Personnel: Up to 35 years as on 01 Apr 2026

3. Educational Qualification

• SSCW (Tech): BE/B.Tech in notified engineering streams. Final year students can apply, but they must produce degree certificate before 01 Apr 2026.

• SSCW (Non-Tech – Widows): Graduation in any stream.

• SSCW (Tech – Widows): BE/B.Tech in any engineering stream.

Physical Standards for Women Candidates

• Run (2.4 km): 13 Minutes

• Push-Ups: 15

• Pull-Ups: 02

• Sit-Ups: 25

• Squats: 2 sets of 30 reps

• Lunges: 2 sets of 10 reps

• Swimming: Must know basic swimming

Selection Process 

The selection process consists of:

1. Shortlisting of Applications – Based on marks in degree.

2. SSB Interview – 5 days selection procedure including psychological tests, group tasks, and personal interview.

3. Medical Examination – Candidates recommended in SSB must be medically fit.

4. Final Merit List – Prepared stream-wise based on SSB marks and vacancies.

Training at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai

• Duration: 49 weeks (approx. 1 year)

• Course Commencement: April 2026

• Award: Post Graduate Diploma in Defence Management & Strategic Studies after successful training.

• Important Rule: Candidates cannot marry during training. If married, candidature will be cancelled.

Pay Scale and Allowances

Selected candidates will be commissioned as Lieutenants in the Indian Army with the following pay structure:

Additional Benefits:

• Military Service Pay (MSP): ₹15,500 per month

• Dearness Allowance, Field Area Allowance, High Altitude Allowance, Siachen Allowance

• Children Education Allowance & Hostel Subsidy

• Free Ration & Uniform Allowance (₹25,000 per year)

• Insurance Cover: ₹1.25 Crore (AGIF)
